Why Give to god’s work at tabernacle?
-
The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously.
Each person should do as he has decided in his heart — not reluctantly or out of compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver.
And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work.
-
Don’t neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.
-
Don’t you know that those who perform the temple services eat the food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in the offerings of the altar? In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the Gospel should earn their living by the Gospel.
-
Share with the saints in their needs; pursue hospitality.
-
Right now I am traveling to Jerusalem to serve the saints, because Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.
Yes, they were pleased, and indeed are indebted to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual benefits, then they are obligated to minister to them in material needs.
-
Let the one who is taught the Word share all his good things with the teacher.
-
Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy.
Instruct them to do what is good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and willing to share, storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of what is truly life.
-
One person gives freely,
yet gains more;
another withholds what is right,
only to become poor.
A generous person will be enriched,
and the one who gives a drink of water
will receive water.
-
A generous person will be blessed,
for he shares his food with the poor.

Where does my giving go?
-
Tabernacle is a Baptist church, and as such is autonomous (self-governed) and self-supported. Everything from the electricity and water to our staff’s salaries are entirely reliant on the generous giving of God’s people.
-
Tabernacle has partnered with local charities like Eastern Interfaith Outreach and other food pantries for decades. A portion of our budget is specifically allotted each year to help those in our community that are in need.
-
Our church has joined in Gospel partnership with the Baltimore Baptist Association and the Baptist Convention of Maryland / Delaware. A portion of our giving each year is sent from our church to these collections of churches, and is then used for disaster relief, youth events, mental health assistance, and community Gospel proclamation across our local area and our state.
-
We wholeheartedly believe at Tabernacle that the United States’ biggest need is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, accepted by people, who will then make a difference in their homes, churches, and local areas as the Holy Spirit does His work in lives. To that end, we support North American Mission Board (NAMB) church planters through our Annie Armstrong Offering each Easter season.
-
Jesus’ command in Acts 1:8 was that, “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
While none of us can share the Gospel everywhere at once, we can partner with those that are sharing the Gospel across the world. Tabernacle does this through supporting the International Mission Board (IMB) each December through our Lottie Moon Offering.
