1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 — To The Elders And Christians

Main Idea: Christians should respect and love the elders that work to lead them in God’s ways.

THE WORK OF ELDERS IN THE LOCAL CHURCH

• They should work hard to know the Word and the flock.

• They should lead the church as God leads them.

• They should warn us when they see us going down bad paths.

OUR RESPONSES TO OUR ELDERS AS CHRISTIANS

• We should recognize the merits of our elders & respect them.

• We should allow ourselves to be known, led, and warned by them.

• We should love them greatly because of their work.

• We should not gossip about or fight against them.
